How do we carry the burdens of eco-grief and climate anxiety to become more resilient?

I’m Nicole, an environmental journalist, and I have wondered about what to do with the added burden of living in a warming world, when, individually, we are already dealing with so much.

My writing is informed by my studies at Smith College and Johns Hopkins University, where I learned to think critically about my place in the world and how to approach complex topics. I believe that to find the answers, we must look to science but also to art, culture, and the emotional landscape we are all a part of. As a mother, I also consider the uncertainty of it all.

I’m not a therapist, but just someone who’s curious. I write about climate change and chemical contamination during the day as a freelance journalist, and I’m here at night exploring the questions those stories leave behind.

How do we hold it all?

That’s what I want to know.

This space is a practice, a place for me to explore healing with people who know more than I do. My hope is that through conversation, we can map a way forward that feels more grounded and bearable.

If that sounds good to you, then come with me, and we can explore together.

Thank you for being here.
